Mother's Day

How do I hate this holiday? Let me count the ways. All of my friends and most of my family took my coming out either in stride or as inevitable. They have been overwhelmingly supportive of me, with one notable exception. My mother went on a tirade telling me it was better to stay in the closet because I would lose everyone I love if I came out. She told me everyone would turn their backs on me. The only one who turned their back? Yep, her. Wow, I promise this is the last time I'm going to bring her up on this blog. I just needed to get that out of my system. I now return you to our regularly scheduled geeky gay blog.

Cleaning

Ugh. I have the afternoon off and I'm stuck spending it cleaning my apartment. It's my own fault for getting behind. My best friend is coming down from the U.P. with his wife and kids on Monday and I don't want the place trashed when they get here. At least I have John Barrowman's beautiful singing voice to keep me company.

The Weekend Is Almost Over!

Why is there never enough time?

Michael

Well, I got to talk to Michael face to face today. All is good. He hurt his back last weekend and was afraid I'd think he was too old to date. Not likely, this man is hot! We went shopping for his mother's birthday this Friday. It was really sweet to see him putting so much thought into it. I can't help it. I really think I'm falling for this man.

Torchwood

I figured I should let everyone know that I have recently been introduced to the world of Dr Who and Torchwood. Like any good gay guy, that means a major crush on John Barrowman and schoolgirl like swooning every time Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones are onscreen together. So just a heads up, with Series Three of Torchwood coming out this summer and my love of great stories and Wales, you will probably see a few mentions of Torchwood and John Barrowman scattered through this blog. If this causes you to watch it and get hooked yourself, don't say I didn't warn you.

Michael

Sorry it's been so long since the last post. I'm off to a great start keeping up with this thing huh? The big news is that I met a great guy named Michael on-line a couple of weeks ago. We had our first date last weekend and it went really great. The problem now is that it went a little too well too fast. We have talked every day since that night but he seems hesitant to meet face to face again. I think he's a little spooked now. I really like this guy and want to see where this is going. We are supposed to hang out tomorrow and I have to figure out a way to talk to him about it. I'm willing to take it slow if it means not losing him already. Time will tell.

Save A Horse!

Once Upon A Time...

Isn't that how every new journey begins? At least that's how they started in most of the books I read as a child. I am at the beginning of a new journey. I recently came out to my family and friends. I have lived most of my life to please other people. I have denied myself the happiness that all human beings should be able to experience in this life. I now boldly say NO MORE!

I want to find the joy in life. I want to live, to laugh, and to love. I want to be free to be me. The only problem is, I'm not sure who that is. I have tried so hard to be what other people wanted that I have lost myself. I am looking forward to finding out who I'm going to be. Everyone told me that I should be journaling to help find myself. I decided I have kept too many secrets in my life so I am putting my journal here for the whole world to see. This is who I am becoming. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
